Plain cake ¾ cup sugar ¼ cup butter 1½ cups flour ½ cup water 1 egg 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp flavoring mace cinnamon vanilla raisins citron + nuts dusted with flour cream butter + add sugar gradually then the yolk of egg beat until very light add alternately sifted flour + baking powder then a little water + [so all till quantity?]

Fudge 2 cups sugar 1 cup milk ½ cup cocoa boil till it forms a [drop?] in the water then add vanilla + tbsp 1 tsp cream 1 tbsp marshmallow whip bean until it gets creamy + pour into shallow pans + cut in squares add peanuts + raisins

Dumplings ½ cup flour ½ cup milk pinch salt 1 egg small piece butter mix flour + milk + salt well mixed in a pan with the melted butter mix thoroughly + cook till thick stirring constatly when the consistancy of dough take from fire place in bowl break an egg over it + mix till it is through the dough

dip the spoon in the hot milk or soup + mix small particle of the mix + [h...?] in the liquid [..lling?] the spoon each time before putting another portion into the soup cover the soup + let boil 15 minutes these come to the top are light + easily digested.
