1875 Dec 1 I went to See Lowry Saw him Robt Waller he burning plant Bed -

2 Killed my other Hogs this morning coldquite Edmd Dews shelling corn to go to Mill

3rd Decr Rained Hailed Snowed & freezed last night Finished Salted our Pork last night all done

4 Ill trees loaded with ice cold cloudy day Ice nearly all

5 gone last night cloudy for 3 or 4 days 5 Raining nearly the blessed Sunday

6 still cloudy Ice gone sent Jimmie to Yates Mill with nearly 3 Bushels corn for meal ½ Bushel wheat out of Box for me to eat to be ground like corn & 1 Bushel corn for chop for me Ed Sent corn & 2 Bushel wheat for himself flour - weather more moderate Mr Wright here to day & shaved me

7 Cloudy & foggy & has been for 4 days weather moderate - Ed gone to clean out road Jimmy to P O - began to rain 9 or 10 oclock & rained nearly all have not scarcely seen the Sun for 4 days

8 Rained last night still cloudy a little & foggy & cleared of about 10 oclock Edmd malling wood & cutting Jimmie gone to mill after meal etc etc etc weather moderate Mr Wooding had my waggon last thursday was to send it home friday but did come till to day Wednesday Did not my wheat flour nor Edmonds flour this morning

9th cleared off Thank God & Turned cooler cutting gathering stacks for cows, Ed went to Mr Templetons to help him Kill Hogs this morning Sun Shining my hand has been very sore for 10 or 12 days - I have engaged with Peter Adams to have with me next year & make a Crop & help do any thing for me when not engaged on religious duties as pr agreement Hauled up Some Stalks to day 2 Loads cloudy & like for for falling weather - I am off the bargain I made with Ed Wright and he has notcomplyed

1875 Dec 10th Friday Ed & his gang cutting & hauling up stalks to day or this evening Jordan got my Cart & steers this morning to haul Rock to build his chimney weather moderate at this time

11th Saturday Decr. Edmd Sick this morning Jimmy & Wm going to Mill Yates to get wheat meal & flour & then they will haul stacks up thats Piled & Cut Pretty day & moderate

12th Nannie & me went S Stone Meeting to daypretty day

13 Windy & cool this Robt Tucker Did not come here this morning

14 Did not do much Ed Still complaining with Rheumatism Peter Adams here fixing his House yesterday cutting wood & move here this day Still pretty morning ---

15. I went to Mount Airy after my Papers & letters & wrote to DR Hunt J D Hunt Chas H Ryland JT Ellison for Presidents Album of President Jimmy & Wm cutting & getting wood -- Peter Adams here fixinging his House

16 Jim & Wm cutting wood Pride Hunt here last night went away this morning Peter Adams went to Mount Airy & got ps Iron to do up his chimney front to day

17th Peter Adams helping Jimmy & William to get wood to day - Weather Turned a great deal cooler this morning Sent Sally a Turkey by Mr Wm Lewis this evening I went to Jordens & Edmond Tuckers this morning

18 very windy & cold yesterday from about 9 oclock till night. Edmd Dews smartly better has been in the House all this week Jimmy will have wood to day still cold morning clear cold day. I am going to S S Grange

19 I went to Prayer Meeting to day quite cool

20st quite cool & frosty clear morning -- cutting & Piling stacks to day -

21st cutting & Hauling up corn stalks this morning clear pretty day for time of year

1875 Dec 22nd Finished Hauling up Stalks yesterday Edmd Dews gone to Mount Airy Peter gone to Millers Mill with wheat & corn I am going to Mount Airy my Self Lent Edmd my Bbl to make Beer cutting & fixing for Christmas. Jorden come to get Plank for floor of his House let him [Turn?]have 12 ps Plank 14 feet long 1 ps not so lon[g] & 1 ps mo[re?] for Door

23rd Jorden hauling Plank for his House got 11 ps wide 11 feet long for floor Nannie & Miss Frankie Leak gone to Miss Martha Martha Neals to weding of James P Lewis & Tabitha Neal to day fair pretty Day

24th Raining this morning trying to Pile Lite wood Peter Adams Hauling wood to day Raining a little at 10 11 Oclock got dry wd wood in evening raining last night

25 Raining this morning weather moderate

26 Raining this morning & foggy weather moderate

27th. Monday Rained last night hard & wind Blew very hard

28 Raining this morning weather a little cool Still cloudy & like for more Rainy weather - Kill 1 Turkey

29th Mr Joseph M Moses came here to day evening or yesterday evening & went away to day Raining this morning at 1 Oclock weather moderate & raining Raining in evening

30th. Raining a little last night still cloudy & like for rain weather moderate

31st decr 1875 cloudy this morning & weather moderate weather moderate
