hay fever which imprisons me now
completely – And to go sometimes to
see her. Her servants are good & devoted
And her Dr dear and most kind &
she likes him so much fortunately –
but still I long to know how it goes with
her for she is truly quite desolate –
I find it difficult because in her state
I do not sleep there, & it is too far for
me to come & go in the day –

Consequently it is not very easy to
accomplish often – Lady M writes
me that she has resumed her front
of dark hair. What a pity – she
looked so nice with the little bit of
Snowy hair under her cap –
She always speaks affectly of you to me
& she knows my friendship for you –
I think it very likely that she may
rally & live many years yet – but
whether her memory will be the
same again remains to be seen
