It was very sad to go to Stawell House
The rooms utterly deserted and she
laid up – upstairs – enjoying nothing
I hope now that as she has been out
in a bath chair she will be down
stairs for a while daily.

Her left side is very useless . She
told me she thought that she
had hurt her spine when she fell
She has a very nice trained nurse
[(]She does not know she is a "nurse" she thinks[)]
to help her own maid to nurse her
A particularly nice young person
altogether one feels she is in kind
and good care there – but it is
Intensely sad I think –

I hope now to stay in England & you
may be sure I will do what I can
whilst Lady M is out of reach
Aunt Emle seems to like her visits
but I suspect she Aunt E is uncertain
perhaps I shall find she has
tired of me when I see her again –
