Status: Needs Review

60/2454 [Bow?] Walker & Co. 31st December
Further respecting meaning of recent Land Acts
and that they have deposited £1500 in Union Bank
in favor of [measures?] to secure their constituents
Sydney 27 December 1860
Sir

Referring to our previous letter of
the 20th instant, in which we requested
you to favour us with information
as to the Construction to be placed on
Sections 2 and 3 of 24 Vict. 12 (as so
far as regards tenure for runs already
opened by the Government of N. S. Wales.
and not yet reported on) and seeing
that a reply to such cannot reach
us in time to permit of a compliance -
if necessary - with those regulations
being at the present the ignorant of
the extent to which our Constituents
may be liable in respect thereof,
we do ourselves the honor of inform
you that we have opened a credit
with the Union Bank, Brisbane,
in favour of the Colonial Treasurer
of Queensland for an amount not
exceeding Fifteen Hundred Pounts
(£1500), which we consider to
be an approximate of the Rent for the year

Side note
[R.G.W.H.?]
Inform the [writers?] that under
circumstances the Government are
willing to acknowledge that the
interests of their Constituents are
sufficiently protected by the steps
taken. Inform them, however,
that a Notice will appear in [their?]
next Gazette fixing 31 March
as the date beyond which
payments must not be
delayed.
