hopelessly blind I hear – she asked me to
thank you for your kindness to her
poor thing. I do feel for her changed position
she will have to go to the workhouse
Infirmary – & I will (as soon as I can)
try to agitate for a blind asylum for
her declining years – it is a sad case
You have helped her to convalescent home
& to keep her whilst waiting for the doctors
verdict & will now spare her for money with
the balance – and she is very grateful.
How I hope you will find all going on to
your satisfaction dear Bessie & have
good accounts of your two dear Lads here
I know how often your heart is here –
Christian begs me send his kind love
These days recall all your kind visits
in our great trouble – Although this had
been the worst operation Ch was very
nervous about an Anesthetic and wished
it to be done without – as all has gone
well – the peace & quiet is a blessed
contrast to all former Experience
during his illness – all
