I wrote to Miss Best. It was so kind of
you & of her to propose her coming – but
in our close quarters Ch & I felt that
we could not avail ourseves of her
kindness & Vigant fortunately came
the McAs are in London – I was forced
to ask Eml to defer coming till after
yesterday as a medical board (of 3)
came from Dover – but as she & Enid
are going to Herefordshire on Saturday

but I hope to see Bayly next week
we are less than 2 hours by express &
2½ ordinary train fm Victoria
When V. comes I will go to Town & try to
get my house ready for strangers –
Norah is at Bath having the Baths
Poor thing it is lonely for her – she
is in lodgings under a dr we know.
I am sending Mrs Bond to her own
parish in Devonshire she is now
