Eml. promised £50 to Katie but of
course that also stopped and very
fortunately I had not said so to
Katie ! ! – Now you know all that I
do – Last time I was there she
again with tears in her eyes said
"You have promised to tell me if you
want my help you know"
I said "oh yes ! & so I will" – she
has forgotten all about any note
and of course I avoid the subject
she said "Do come & stay with me
I want to speak of many things
but I get flurried & my memory
is so bad when you come in & out"
but I feel quite sure if I went
there for a week it would be
exactly the same & a visitor wd
bother her servants – vastly
Dr Burns told me to come if I felt
disposed but that he was
entirely of my opinion –
