large, consisting of the generality of the neighborhoods - dined with Sam'l. Parsons: afternoon rode 26 miles to the City of Richmond, had Meeting there next Day which was 4th. of the mo. & 1st. of the Week; we met with a great multitude of the Inhabitants in the common Court Room; but just as we took Seats a Message came from the Parson of the Place informing, although he had appointed to Preach in the Capital (a large Room under the same Roof where the general Assembly met) he inclined to give it up to Friends, this was a very large & elegant hall, well adopted as to Gallerie, seats, & was very crowded, many stood, all behaved pretty well; I was engaged to cry to the Most High under this Sense, that without him I could do nothing, & feeling his

Help I never found anything wanting. I felt no Fear of Man, though the Governor, great Men & some thought near all the Inhabitants of the Town were there _

Thence 10 Miles to Benjn Johnson's, were at their Meeting next Day called the Swamp which was full, but few Members of Society as appeared when I requested such to keep their Seats at the Close of the Meeting, whom I encouraged to stand firm in their Testimony against undue Liberties &c _

That afternoon accompanied by divers Frds. went 10 Miles further to Jarret Allisons, & was at their Meeting next Day called Black Creek the House was full of People, the largest Meeting they had had for many Years as they said. & I am safe I apprehend in concluding it a comfortable

comfortable Meeting, the good Hand being near to help; the People appeared well satisfied; next Day accompanied by Jarret Allison went 40 miles to Skiminoe; was unwel when I arived, but next say better & attended their Meeting where the Lukewarm were warned & the Mourners in Zion comforted__ Some Hearts were contrited in a Sence of divine Love, the Meeting ended in humble Supplication__ Here I had to observe, that I had never had a low Time of Mind; but what as I kept a small Portion of Faith, it ended to my great Comfort & Consolation, I was still the better enabled to sing of Mercy & of Judgement; & tell to others what the Lord had
