At the end of the last lecture I gave a rule for
positively ascertaining whether a graph is alpha-
possible or not. It also *determines/furnishes a description of
the state of things in which it is possible. I said
suppose it was not the best possible rule; but it is
reasonably speedy. Considering that the system of
existential graphs is not intended to be used as a
calculous, it satisfies all requirements

Then we come to beta possibility, it is impiety
cable to work in the by [adding?],[dividing?] comprehensive routine.
It might be done; but the waste of time will be
enormous in any but the simplest cases.

The idea of that was double correspond-
