Annexed is a letter from Mr C. L Junr enclosing for my inspection an account rendered to him by Mr Hoard chief officerat the Coast Guard station Sandlemere, in respect of Services rendered by himself and men to the Dutch Galliott "Martha Alida" stranded at that place on the 11 Inst, amounting to £9. 5. 0 which account I also viz:

Mr Ringrose states that the Services of Mr Hoard and his men were prompt and effectual and requests to be informed whether, as all [? ments?] in this matter will come under a general average - the claim is a legitimate one, Mr Ringrose having deposited the said £9: 5: 0 in my hands - I will thank you to make inquiry and report the nature of the Services to the Controller General of the Coast Guard, - and obtain his directions as to the disposal of the said sum
