WATER MELON

(One ounce is required for forty hill: three
pounds will plant an aere.)

Tom Watson.-(Cut No. 2.)-A leader
among melons, becaus of quality and ship-
ping excellence. No variety to our knowl-
edge combines both essentials as does this
melon. The Tom Watson is a large, oblong
melon, skin dark green, with thick netting
on the entire surface, quite distinct from
other varieties. It averages 18 to 24 inches
long and 10 to 12 inches in diameter and it
weighs 50 to 60 pounds. The rind is thin but
tough and flesh a bright, attractive res color,
crisp, sweet and deliciouse. The heart is large
with no core. Seeds brown, tipped white.

SWEETHEART. -(Cut No. 3)-Favorite Des
Moines market sort. It is early, large, hand-
some, heavy , a good shopper, long keeper, of
bright color and good quality. The fruit is
large, oval, very heavy, uniformly mottled
light green: rind thin but firm:solid, tender,
melting and delicious. Pkt. 5c, oz. 15c, 1/4 lb.
