Edwd Crane Esq.

Dear Sir,

Among the accounts due to this Corporation which have come into my hands from the late Treasurer, for collection, is one against you, amounting to five hundred fifteen 33/100 dollars ($515.33) for work done on your lot last year. --

I am informed that the payment of this bill has been repeatedly demanded of you, and which demand I now repeat, but, for this time only.

I send herewith the account of the same.

Respectfully yours,

A.J. Coolidge Treasr

J.C. Johnson Esq

Dear Sir,

I have been to Mount Auburn and inquired about your bill. I learn that the work was done at a reasonable price -- in fact low. The confidential estimates of what later will cost made beforehand amount to nothing, & I think we all learn to regard them of about as much value, as a carpenter's estimate in his head for what a house will cost --

I have credited the four posts, $8. Upon reflection, the work has been done five months, & I desire you to pay before you leave for the week.

Respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge Treasr
