E.H Higgins Esq. Groton Mass.

Dear Sir

Your note is received. I have examined your lot and think you will do well to remove the fence. The old mat-erial of it will pay for removal, cutting over 4 posts for corners that is having a stonecutter cut off enough to remove the ends of iron rods - cut the number of lot one one of the posts - and filling up and sodding over the other posts holes.

There is no use of top dressing or caring for the lot unless it is returfed. There is nothing there now but weeds

To regrade and resod will cost $40. This will leave the lot all in good order.

If you leave the fence there it will cost $50 to put the lot in good order.

In regard to the perpetual care of the lot I will wait until I hear from you as to what you propose doing and I will then be better able to make an estimate.

Very respectfully James W Lovering pr J.C.S. Supt

E.H. Higgins Esq Groton Mass.

Dear Sir

Your note received. I sodding cannot be done until the begining or middle of Sept. That will be a good time to do it and if done then we will care for and warrant the sod for one year. Unless hear from you to the contrary the work will be done in that way. The myrtle will be wanted about the same time. I will notify you when to send it. I am not sure that I understand what you mean by the border of graves. I take it you wish the surface over the graves planted with myrtle in the usual way.

Very respectfully James W Lovering pr J.C.S. Supt

H.W. Patch Esq Boston
