A good day there was frost this morning. The men finished cutting corn. Henry and Luke finished the corn while the others shocked. Josie got dinner.
I picked a few beans this evening. Josie sulphered some apples and made some pickle.
I dug a few potatoes and cut the sun flowers. To night Ben and Marvin has gone to Strait Stone for plow points.

Monday, October 21, 1918
A good day. Ben went to Chatham with Jim Emerson Lucius Gravley and Chesley Edmons and Faber Jefferson and lots of others had to start to training camp.
John Hutcherson disked Bens wheat land this morning for one dollar per acre.
We that was Paul and Owen and Josie and Henry Brumfield and Luke and Norman Owen all stripped tobacco. To night Ben and Paul has gone to the barn to rebulk some tobacco.
Josie gave me a nice lot of candy a present from Josie and Carrie. Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 72 years olde.
I thank them both. Mother.

Monday, November 25, 1918
Ben killed a beef this morning. Mr Owen helped him. They both cut wood at Mags this evening. Josie washed some this evening. I stewed pumpkins to day.
I went to Carries this evening. I did not stay but a few minutes.
Janie Gravley and Effie Brumfield come here to night.
Mr Owen and Luke come in a few minutes. Mr Owen played the fiddle a little while. Ben and Josie and Janie and Effie are playing cards now.

Saturday, February 8, 1919
A good day. Ben & Jim went to Mr Hutcherson. Woodings and got a pig then stripped tobacco a while then fixed to go to Chatham. Marvin went with them. They got some [logs?/dogs?] Ben & Tim Emerson went to Strait Stone to the lodge. They have just got home now.
I helped to strip tobacco nearly all day. Henry B & Luke and Norman Owen tied for me this evening. We had finished what was in the pit and was on our way to the house when Mr Jim Emerson & Sarah Emerson and two children come. I was glad to see them.
Josie got dinner. I heard this evening that Denia Blair is sick. I am very sorry to hear it. Hope she may get well soon. I want to go to see her soon.

Friday, November 21, 1919
A good day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco.
Josie baked a cake for to be solde at the school house. The cake brought a good sum. The boxes all solde well. There was a big crowd at the school house. I was the oldest person there. Mr. Owen & Luke went with Ben.
Miss Grace Wills got the cake for being the prettyes girl. Jim Brumfield stripped tobacco while we went to the school house.

Heard tonight that Lottie Kellie has a new boy. Came this morning.
