Dear Sir,

There was but one vote which related to the Cemetery, and that was the following: --

"That the Committee on Grounds be authorized to cause the Iron Fence enclosing the Cemetery to be painted at an expense not exceeding nine hundred dollars."

Respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

Mrs Henry Rice Jr. Flushing, Long Island

Dear Madam,

In reply to your note of asking if the present name of the proprietor of lot no. 1683, should be entered on our catalogue, I say "Yes" -- we desire to reform our catalogue as much as possible. I am now preparing one for the press, & will thank you to give me the lady's name in full and also her residence.

If you are that lady (which your note does not say) please give me your own christian name. Your husband's name I have.

Your early reply will oblige

Yours Resp.y

Miss A. Rice Flushing N.Y.

Dear Madam

Your favor of 9th is received I have examined lot #3586 and make the following estimate of the expense necessary to put the lot in proper order

Sodding $35-50
Cleaning stone 10.00
Repairing curb 17.50
Myrtle 5.00
[Total] $68.00
I would not insure the sod unless a tree which is in the lot is removed. The shadow from it prevents the grass from growing and I would advise its removal the expense of which would be $7.00 additional 400 is above this rate includes the care of the lot for one year.

This lot I believe has had no care since [18]77. That year it had care, plants and top dressing to the amount of $11.50 which charge I find still on the books against the estate of Mrs. Anne R. P. Burroughs from which I judge the bill must have been sent to the wrong parties

Very respectfully James W Lovering Supt per J.C.S.

Miss A. Rice Flushing L. I.

Dear Madam

Your letter. The deterioration of lot #3586 is mainly due to the tree of which I spoke in my former letter. No sod can thrive under its shadow, the cleaning of the stonework would have to be repeated very soon unless it is removed and the disturbance of the curbing is mainly due to the action its (the trees) roots. --

The present value of the lot is about $450.00 and there is a granite curbing around it that originally cost I should say $800.00.

Very respectfully James W Lovering Supt pr. J.C.S.
