J. H. ELLISON, Esq., WALTHAM.

Dear Sir:-

I have just seen your lot, and think it will compare favorably with lots that have the same provision for care. It may be that you made the comparison with some of our perpetual care lots, but there the amounts are large enough to cover special care, repairs and watering, and these will of course look better. I will have some grass seed sown in your lot which will help it somewhat.

Respectfully yours, Supt.

Mrs. Mary S. Hawley, Waltham

Dear Madam: -

Your note of has been forwarded to me by our Treasurer for answer.

The sum needed for the perpetual care of lot #1662 including six myrtle graves, and the cleaning and renewal of the sarcophagus and four headstones, will be $700.00. If the cleaning only and not the renewal is included, the sum needed will be $500.00, and if the myrtle is removed from the lot the sum needed will be $150.00 less.

The perpetual care of a lot includes more than the care and occasional topdressing you pay for annually. Lots under perpetual care contracts are likely to have much better care, and are topdressed oftener. In the contracts for perpetual care are included many small repairs to the sod, and even the entire resodding of the lot, if needed, which are items of extra expense in addition to the usual annual charges. The perpetual care contract is for all time, and under it the corporation assumes the risk of the cost of labor, materials and the rate of interest hereafter. If you desire to assume this risk, a donation of say $300.00 could be made, and the corporation will keep the principal whole and

Dear Sir,

The price given you for repainting the Fence of Lots 386 and 387*, did not include clearning the marble. Do you wish us to commence on the work?

Dear Sir,

We have examined your Lot and think it will be a useless expense to top dress it with manure as the Lot needs resodding, it will cost about $50. to do this and we think we had better leave the Lot as it is until you are ready to have this done. Please let me know what you think about it, & oblige

Dear Sir:

There is now a large foundation in the center of your Lot #3360 and in putting in the new one that you ordered in the 25th inst, the large one is in the way. The work has been stopped and we would like further instructions in the matter

Dear Sir

I have looked at lot #1204 as requested, and find we have an order for annual care only. The lot has been attended to as often as others during the summer, and is now in fair condition.

The trees shade the lot enough to hurt the sod somewhat, so that tho' it has been cut often enough it is only in fair order. The myrtle in the flower beds has only been saved by great care, & I cannot see but what the look looks very well. Certainly our part has been done. I cannot find that any complaint has ever been made here.

Respectfully J.W. Lovering Supt

My dear Sir,

The Committee on Lots, have instructed me to inform you that this Corporation will guarantee the perpetual repair of lot no 1124, Ailanthus Path, belonging to your late father's Estate, on payment of four hundred and fifty dollars.

When notified by you of your acceptance of this sum, I will prepare the necessary papers.

Truly yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

Mrs. S.D. Warren Waltham Mass,

I have seen Mr Don Carlos Ayer, a jeweler in Hanover St., who is the proprietor of the lot you refer to as at the left of your own -- no. 2094.

He says he is willing the branch which extends over your own lot should be cut off, or that the tree should be trimmed up as much as the Superintendent may think necessary; but he does not wish at present, to entirely part with the tree. When the roots get more extended, and it interferes with burial purposes, he thinks, it may have to be cut down. --

Very truly yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y
