Contract for perpet. repair of Lot 3553 _

the lot of Isaac W. How, numbered (3553) thirty five hundred and fifty three, for the sum of six hundred dollars. _

Voted that said contract be concurred in.

Application of Alexr McDonald to cancel Old Lease _

The President read a communication from Alexander McDonald, a ground tenant of the Corporation of land on Brattle Street, Cambridge, adjacent to the Greenhouse, and occupied by him for the manufacture of monuments, , under a six years lease, (one year of which remains unexpired) at a rent of seventy five dollars per annum, making the following proposition: _

and take from Corporation New lease for Ten Years

To cancel the present lease and take a new ground lease of the Corporation at one hundred dollars per annum _ for the term of ten years, on the condition that he should be allowed to remove his shop back ten feet from the street, raise the same three feet, setting it upon brick foundation, occupying the same amount of land as now, to be set off to him in such shape as shall be satisfactory to the Corporation _ he to furnish the materials and do the work at his own expense. _

referred to Com. on Grounds with full power _

On motion of Mr Livermore,

Voted that the proposition be referred to the Committee on Grounds with full power. _
