J.T. Bradlee Esq. Prest.

Dear Sir,

In view of the isolated position of our buildings, I would recommend the consideration of purchase of some of the many "Extinguishers" or small Engines in the market.

Also an attachment for hose to the faucet in "Reception House"

I enclose such documents as I have obtained from various sources on the subject.

The buildings I refer to are 1 - Reception House - 2-Carpenter shop - 3 -Stone Farm buildings - 4 - Engine House (perhaps) The Green Hos. have hose attached now.)

Dear Sir,

I have the honor to enclose for your inspection sundry documents & plans relating to the extension of the Greenhouses, a part of which 2/3 were built in winter of 1870 - [18]71, and a part (1/8) still remains to be built, which part I would respectfully recommend the Trustees to build by or before the or when it will be needed.

The stone wall for the support of the roof as also the Boiler and both in now.

The parts required will be the glass roof, wooden door at end, brick supports for iron pipes, iron water pipes, & wooden posts & shelving, (enough posts I think are on hand of Cedar or Locust)

Messrs Holmes & Rugg.

Dr Sirs

I have been expecting to hear your price on the coal & should be glad to know, as I am now prepared to buy the following amt. For Mt. Auburn Cemetery 18 tons Furnace Coal delivered in Yard of Engine House, 45 tons Furnace Coal delivered in cellars of Greenhouses or in Greenhouse Yard, and 10 tons stove coal at Superintendent Office.

In addition I will buy for myself 12 tons furnace coal & 6 tons range coal delivered in the cellar of house. This will have to be carried in a short distance as bins by windows are full.

Yrs truly J.W. Lovering Supt

Messrs Shed & Sawyer

Dr Sirs

Please have a profile made of the line indicated by the dotted red line on map enclosed on same scale & from same datum line as profile of Part of Spruce Ave recently made. I should like to have the height taken on pegs occasionally as it will probably be desirable to make some future [attealing?]

Please send us bill for same in a day or two.

Respectfully J.W.Lovering
