tinuation of Heron Avenue is staked out between Eagle and Swan Aves. and Swan Ave. is not staked out from the Gate to the point (d), where it joins such extenstion, (both of which were oversight in staking out)

The Avenues are marked by Posts at prominent points and strong stakes, along the lines; those which bound Orn'l Grounds, being painted in Colors yellow or red, and those along the Avenues painted white.

At the time the first plan for stakinig out the Lot was made (In rectangular form, as in " Lithographed Plan of Cemetery" - 1867 - ) a number of Maple trees were planted along the proposed Aves., and these

points, I think one is naturally led about in the courses I have marked for Eagle, Swan, Albatross and Falcon Avenues.

Should we ever acquire the balance of the Stone Farm, some branches would of course be needed to the westward form Albatross and Pheasant Aves. I have not indicated there now, not wishing to call too much attention to that point.

In regard to fencing, my idea has been (when the time approaches for laying out lots here) to use what old stockade posts we brought from the Watriss [and Chant] lots, as far as they will go in making a stockade fence along the western boundary, (which does not need a^very high fence)

Trustees.

[''Landscape-lawn'' system, – ] Debate in regard to.

– " that Lots in the section between Albatross Avenue " and Swan Avenue be reserved for sale under the land" -scape-lawn system."

Mr Snow moved as an amendment to Mr Bradlee's motion, –

– " that Lots in the section between Albatross Avenue and " Eagle Avenue be so reserved."

The question being first taken on the amendment offered by Mr Snow, it was decided in the negative by a rising vote, five to four.

The question then recurring upon the original motion of Mr Bradlee it was, in the same manner

To be adopted bet. Albatross & Swan Avenues. Rest of territory to be temporarily with-held from sale

Voted, – ^(5 to 1) that the section between Albatross Avenue and Swan Avenue be reserved for sale upon such terms as will carry out "the landscape lawn system," so called.

On motion of Mr Turner it was

Voted, – that the remaining portion of the Stone farm territory be withheld from sale till further order of the Board.

On motion of Mr Snow, it was

Forms for deeds & other papers to be reported by a special Com. Proposed amend. of By-Laws; time Extended

Voted, – that a special Committee consisting of the Committee on Lots and Mr Choate be appointed to consider and report what forms of deeds or other papers may be requisite for carrying into effect the above reservation.

Mr Snow renewed his request for leave to defer the presentation of the amendment to the By-Laws intended to be offered by him as notified at the meeting of the [ante p. 249,] for the same reasons stated by him at the meeting of the , [ante, p. 254.] And it was

Curbing of granite, iron fences, etc. Props. request that Trustees wd consider exp.'y of restricting, ref. to Com. on Lots.

" into and report to the Proprietors as to the expediency " of henceforward prohibiting all fences and curbing " around Lots, and in the grounds of Mt Auburn, " whether of granite, iron, or other material excepting " earth." On motion of Mr Little it was

Voted, – that this subject be referred to the Committee on Lots.

Changes of name: Nuthatch P. to Raven P. & Raven P. to Jonquill P.

A verbal report was received from the chairman of the Committee on Grounds to which was referred at the meeting of, the petition of Mr G. W. Colburn, proprietor of Lot #3260, Nuthatch Path, formerly called Raven Path, that the original name of said Path might be restored; – to the effect that having considered the subject and heard the petitioner who was the only lot-holder on said Nuthatch Path, they were prepared to recommend that the ^name of the Path designated on the plan of 1874 as Nuthatch Path, running from Eagle Avenue to Swan Avenue be changed to Raven Path, and that the name of the Path shown on said Plan as Raven Path, running from Albatross Avenue to Eagle Avenue, on which no Lots have been sold, be changed to Jonquill Path.

Voted, – that the action of the Committee on Grounds is hereby ratified and confirmed by this Board.

Cont. for perp. rep. with G. of Lot No 1661.

The Secretary having stated that the Committee on Lots had recommended the Trustees to guaranty the perpetual repair of Lot #1661, Willow Avenue, West branch, late of Stephen Lynch deceased for
