Walter Hastings Esq. 16 Pemberton Sq. Boston
Dear Sir,
Your favor is rec'd the reason we have not removed the dead trees in your lot and set out new ones in their place is that it would be of no use to do this until fall, we had already given directions to do this and it will be done as soon as the proper time arrives. We have entered your order for Lot of Benj. R. Tinslar #3544 and will see it promptly executed
Respectfully James W. Lovering Supt. J.E.C.

Mr Curtis has asked me to write you a note, inquiring whether it is true that the work was done upon the Bradford lot without your knowledge.
As there is a meeting next Monday, when Mr Curtis proposes to bring up this matter, with a view to afford the Tileston's some remedy, your reply before that will much oblige him.
Yours truly
A.J. Coolidge Secy
Please address your answer to me.
Dear Sir,
Miss Sarah A. Tileston, propr or daughter of the propr of lot 2317, on Sylvan Path, but which fronts towards Walnut Avenue, has written Mr Curtis, complaining of the obstruction to a passage way from 2d Avenue to this lot by means of the manner in which the lot of Alden Bradford, no 176, Walnut Avenue, is enclosed. - Mr Curtis was informed by Miss Tileston that you expressed surprize at seeing the Bradford posts set as they were, and gave her to understand that you were not consulted about it, and were ignorant of it at the time.
