Mount Auburn Cemetery

The annual meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn will be held on Monday the 6^th day of February 1843 at 4 oclock P.M. at the office of the Subscriber, to choose Trustees for the ensuring year, to hear the report of the Treasurer, & to act on any other business which may come before the said meeting -

Pursuant to the above notice which was published in several newspapers printed in Boston more than seven days before the said time of meeting, the said Proprietors met at the time & place therein designated In the absence of the President Joseph T. Buckingham was chose chairman. The report of the Treasurer having been read it was. Voted That the same be accepted & recorded

Trustees chosen.

Voted & chose by ballot the following named gentlemen as Trustees for the year ensuing. Joseph Story, Jacob Bigelow Martin Brimmer C. P. Curtis, B. R. Curtis Geo W. Crockett B. A. Gould Isaac Parker James Read

Com^ee on Finance

Voted. That Mess^rs Parker & Gould be a com^ee of finance with the powers & duties expressed in a vote passed June 6, 1842

Com^ee on Lots.

Voted. That Mess^rs Bigelow Parker & C.P. Curtis be the com^ee on lots with all the powers & duties heretofore conferred on said Com^ee

Tombs

Voted. That the com^ee on Lots be requested to report what parts of the Cem^y. are suitable for the building of Tombs.

Trusts

Voted. That the President be a com^ee to prepare the form of a declaration of trust to be used by persons desirous of bestowing funds for the preservation of tombs monuments & lots.

Tickets

Voted. That the Sec^y be authorized at at his discretion to issue a Ticket to some one of the representatives of deceased Proprietors in such cases as are not now provided for by the laws & rules & regulations

Barn -

Voted. That Mess^rs Gould, Crocket & Bigelow be a com^ee on the subject of Mr Howes communication (i.e. as to building a barn &c) with power to act thereon

Trustees

Pursuant to notice issued by the Sec^y. the Trustees of the Pros. of the Cem^y. of Mount Auburn met at the office of the Sec^y. on saturday the fifteenth day of July 1843

Form of Trust

Voted. That all sums received from grants or bequests for the purpose of keeping lots in repair shall form one fund, to be designated "the fund for repairs," & the amount to be credited to each lot shall be ascertained by taking the whole income of the whole fund & dividing it among the several lots entitled thereto in proportion to the principal sum granted or bequeathed to the Corporation by the proprietor of such lot.

Voted. To adopt the form of a declaration of trust reported by the President & that the Sec^y cause the same to be printed & copies thereof to be distributed to such of the Proprietors as may call for the same, & that public notice thereof be given in the newspapers.

Bequests limited

Voted. That no gift or bequest of a less amount than one hundred dollars will be received.
