J.T. Bradlee Esq. Prest,

Dear Sir,

I wish to call to your notice, the necessity of considering the needs of the Cemetery in regard to a supply of gravel for the future.

According to an estimate made by Mr. Harrison about a year ago about 14,500 cu. yds would be required for grading in the vicinity of Halcyon Lake and 1000 cu yds to fill the hollow between N. & S. Lime Aves. While the supply in the hill between Viburnum Ave. and Kalmia P. was only about 2,250 cu. yds.

Since that time the hollow between Lime Aves, has been nearly filled thus leaving very little for the other work)

There is some gravel on Stone Farm, but not enough for

Wm Dickson Esq.

Dear Sir,

We have today rec'd a letter from the Props. of Lot #659 Elm Ave saying that he wishes to buy the space you are looking at, so that we shall be unable to let you have it.

The space in rear of Gerardia Path (near Halcyon Lake) is still at our disposal, and we should be happy to sell you any size of lot you may wish in that section

Respectfully Yours J.W. Lovering Supt. Per E.T.K.

Mt Auburn

John T. Bradlee Esq Ch. Comm. on Grounds.

Dear Sir

A picket fence 9 ft high can be erected on the Stone Farm at $110 pr running foot, and a 7 ft high fence for $100 pr foot.

Cedar posts [then?] rails let in & spiked on which planed & pointed pickets 7/8" thick & 3" wide are nailed 3" apart. Also a base board & strip opposite top rail outside of pickets to stiffen them. All to be well fastened & painted two coats.

Gravel can be bought of Alex. McDonald for 20¢ & perhaps 18¢ a yard in [bulk?]. We shall want gravel for finishing Halcyon Lake, on Fountain Ave in rear of Receiving Tomb, and in the large hollow opposite Cambridge Cemetery, on both sides of stockade fence, as well as for ordinary repairs of Avenues & grading of new lots.

We can [trade?] & deliver this at Halcyon Lake or the stockade fence for 50¢ pr yard making a total cost of 70¢ pr yard, or 10 cents a yard cheaper than I can buy it of any one I know of.

Please give this matter your attention, as considerable portions have been sold.

Respectfuly J.W. Lovering

A.M. Shaw Esq

Dr Sir

Our Trustees have notified me to allow no lots around Halcyon Lake differently from Mr Bartlett's (which you & looked at a day or two ago) until they decide on the plan for finishing the Lake.

That is to say, until they decide on the plan, I have no authority to allow you to grade your lot level.

Respectfuly J.W. Lovering

Mr. H.B. Mackintosh

Dear Sir:

In the List of A.C. Bills which was handed in last week the error on Lot 150 was, that $5.00 for care and $3.00 for plants which had been paid was not charged to the Propr.
