801 Main St Cambridge, Mass.

Dear Sir:

In regard to thr two Bills rendered with this. We have your order for cutting the Number in Panel. The charge of $700 for slate covers was occasioned by the breakage of the original ones probably from an overweight of gravel as they we[re] found broken when the Tomb was opened. The Extra Labor $300 was the removal of two bodies from the tomb to the Receiving Tomb where they still remain. The bodies were moved for Edward Richardson Esq, that is by his direction

Yours very Respectfully

James W. Lovering Supt.

Charles Cushman Esq.

Dear Sir

I have your favor of . Having only the records for some five years back here, I have no means of knowing ^what work was done except from proprietors bills or from the treasurer's books in Boston.

The charge of $3.00 I have had placed on the account of Edward Richardson.

In regard to the charge of $7 for slate covers, it seems to me you ought to pay it. Do the best work we can, there are always repairs needed, which I think we are not bound to make, except when they occur from fault of ours.

Wishing however on the part of the corporation to act fairly in the matter I have divided the charge between us, that is reduced it from $7. to $3.50 which I consider as more than our share. Hoping this may meet your wishes

I am very truly

J. W. Lovering
