Dear Sir
Your letter of 28 ult. to the Treasr was sent to me.
By an oversight of a workman the gate was not repaired so it would shut.
I am sorry that this so happened. The gate has been righted and I trust the lots may be satisfactory upon the next inspection.
Very Respectfully
J.W. Lovering Sup^t^. per Childs
Dear Sir
Your favor of July 5th is received. I am very sorry to say that the card order which you mailed never reached this office otherwise the lot would have received the attention ordered.
I have directed our gardener to take care of the lot for the balance of the season is 1/2 season at a cost of $2.00, and to put in plants as in 1875 at a cost of $3.00 -- which I trust will be satisfactory. I enclose postal card order which by signing at the bottom will continiue in force each year until forbid thus preventing the recurrence of a similar mistake to that of 1875.
Very Respectfully
