Trustees' power [to] make By-Laws revoked.
On motion of Mr John R. Poor, it was
Resolved, – that the vote of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, adopted on the ; giving the Trustees of this corporation power to make By-Laws, to be in force until otherwise ordered by the corporation is hereby repealed, and such authority revoked.
Citation of vote conferring this power, adopted 1835
[The vote of the Proprietors above referred to is in the terms following, viz: –
"The Trustees shall have authority to make any By-Laws for the due regulation and management of the property, business and prudential concerns of the corporation not

A monthly meeting of the Trustees was held on Wednesday, at Four o'clock P.M.
Present, Messrs. J. T. Bradlee, N. J. Bradlee, Browne, Choate, Lawrence, Little, Perkins, Pickering, Snow and Spelman.
Election of Officers: –
The meeting having been called to order by Mr J. T. Bradlee, and the names of the Trustees elected at the annual meeting of the corporation on the announced by him, and the statement made that the business first in order would be the election of officers for the ensuing year; – on motion of Mr Perkins, it was
Voted, – that the Board proceed to ballot for a President.
Mr Perkins having been designated a Committee to collect and count the votes announced the result as follows, viz; –

And Mr John T. Bradlee was accordingly declared elected to the office aforesaid.
Previous to the ballot being taken, Mr Bradlee had stated to the Board, in accordance with notice given by him at a meeting of the Trustees held , that the pressure of other duties rendered it imperative for him to decline to be a candidate for re-election as President, and on the announcement of the result of the ballot, he expressed his appreciation of the compliment indicated by the

Personally appeared Samuel Batchelder Jr., and made oath that he would faithfully perform the duties appertaining to the office of Secretary of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn.

Present Messrs. J. T. Bradlee, Brewer, Browne, Choate, Lawrence, Perkins and Spelman.
The record o the last meeting was read & approved.
Receiving Tomb. Comn from the Com. on Lots respecting.
A communication was received from the Committee on Lots resporting progress made by them in the matter of the new receiving Tomb, stating that they were not yet prepared to name the amount desired as an appropriation therefor, and desiring a renewal of the notice given at the last meeting. Also requesting "that " before the next monthly meeting the members of the " Board not already familiar with the subject, will, by " visiting the Cemetery or by personal interview with the " Superintendent, or in both these ways, acquaint themselves " with all the circumstances of the case so that, at that time " definitie action may be taken."
Voted, – that the report of the Committee be accepted
