Dear Sirs:-
I have returned you the press copy book of 1889, the year is stamped in the wrong place, and the title "Bills Rendered Treasurer" is left off. I enclose rubing from the 1887 book which will show how the rest of the series are lettered.

Messrs J.M. Whittemore & Co.
Gentlemen
You may print the blanks for us as per instructions in our letter to Mr. J.M.W. Jr. Aug 16. We should like the dotted line printed so the slip will tear off easily. We wish you to use a good quality of paper something that writing ink will not spread upon, also, please stitch them together in lots of 50 each; if it would be more convenient to make the stitches farther apart (that is, make longer stitche) you can do so. Please send them to us here per express when done. Please send proofs before printing.
Yours truly James W. Lovering Supt. J.E.C.

Dear Sir
I send you plans & details of Mr. Mann's tomb as far as I have them. We have commenced to excavate for the foundation, and if there is any reason why we should not build the tomb, I would be glad to hear as soon as convenient
Respectfully J.W. Lovering

Gentlemen
Your favor enclosing proofs is rec'd; the printing is entirely satisfactory and you need not trouble yourself to send proofs of the other slips but may follow the same style = You understand that different colors of paper are to be used, if of same quality as sample you send, it will do.
Yours truly James W. Lovering Supt. J.E.C.
