28 Hilling up fresh ground Tobacco since we went to Lynchg & framing Top of Tobacco House, look for my waggon back to day made the trip in 3 days & a little over very dry & Hot, nights cool every thing burning up hear, [here]- Henry got home time enough to Carry the waggon home Sent Jenny home, this evening —

29th Plowing & Hilling up Lot Tobacco To day - Dry & Hot this day — nights cool

30 Plowing & Hilling up Tobacco Sewed Guano on Lot at this time — Dry & Hot days very cool nights indeed. every things looks like drying up, - Sent Charles Allen to shop & he stayed all day nearly sent little Henry in eveningafter Bob worked here Tuesday & Wednesday of this week gone all the balance somewhere

31st went to Lynch Johns Funeral & the Revrd Mr KirkPatrick, & a Poor sermon it was

Monday 1st Augt 1859. Mrs Hunt left for Bed= ford this morning, began to machine Wheat at Aspen Grove, Clem & Jerry at work in Lot Hilling up Tobacco - Hot & Dry at& No Rain for a long time, nights cool

2nd Trying to Finish mach[in]ing wheat at aspen Grove to day & get home before night finished

3rd Sent 2½ Bushels wheat to Farris s Mill this morning Fixing down machine making Table etc working our Lot Tobacco, not finished that Dry & Hot very dry- corn nearly dryed upon high land

19th We have nearly planted all our Hills made here to day Bob helped yesterday & to day got some plants from aspen Grove. Lowry & Buck here Henry got back this evening & went on home with waggon, Rainy trip to Lynchg all the time ——

21st Bob came here to day weeding corn Bedding Tobacco Lot. Plowing corn I went to Court got back same night.

22nd Mr John P Faris Came here to work at 12 Oclock this day. we are weeding corn Hilled up Irish Potatoes by Kitchen fixing new ground for Tobacco,- Hilling etc

23rd Mr Faris at work & so is Bob, clear morning Hilling & Coltering in new ground, Plowing corn, have not wed much corn yet, To day is JD Hunts Sale of Household Furniture, not sold, on acct Gloomy times

4th went to Plantation Mrs Hunt went to Mrs Colemans yesterday & Saturday we halled wood cut etc cleared off very pretty

5. Sandy & Jacob shoemaking we are halling up stalks & commence plowing for wheat. I went to Scruggs. sold Ham Steer for $20. If paid in 3 mos. no Int. If not Int from to day began to still for Est. run off only one still full to day

6th Novr I went to Election shoemaking Cutting, Plowing for wheat in Lot - My Hogs begins to Come up, except the Pigs

7th Finished sewing wheat stilling all day for Est. run out 2 still fulls - Fixed cow shelter frame -

8. Put up Greens Halling Rails for hog pen, & cow pen, etc getting pss to shingle office Sho[e]making all this week here & at aspen Grove, Jacob & Sandy
