S. T. Snow, Esq. Chn. Comm on Lots.

Dear Sirs,

I enclose a letter from Saml Elder, (one of our old Teamsters,) who owns a small lot on Strawberry hill, (N.W. of Mt Auburn 1/2 mile,) offering to sell the loam off of lot on wh[ich] he is going to build.

We have been in the habit of buying it from our own men in similar cases, but I do not think we have paid quite so much.

We paid last year .50cents a load; another party at the

rate of .75$ a yard, another part $1.00 a yard.

I should recommend to buy the above loam (to be of good quality,) of S. Elder at $0.50 a load or $0.75 a yard, and we haul it; or add 25 cents a load or .37 1/2 a yard if he hauls it -

Yours Truly C.W. Folsom Supt

P.S. We have to buy more or less loam, & Elder is an old & very deserving employee. C.W.F.

Dear Sir

On Saturday April 1st the spring pay will commence. I wish you would see that all whose names are on your book are notified that there will be a reduction from the prices paid in 1875, in April. Any man desiring to know at what rate he will be paid can inquire at the office of Mr Childs with whom I will leave a list.

The teamsters pay will be $1.75 per day, all days to be counted except Sundays, wet or dry, when they are prsent. This is a much smaller reduction than is made for most of the men, but I take into consideration that they have to come early to take care of the horses and that they will be expected to get to work promptly at 7 o'clock and 10 o'clock & not leave until the bell rings. I expect they will be on hand early evenings to give the horses good care, & stay long enough at night. Teamsters, Engineer, S. Elder so expressed concern from overseer. That Engineer, firemen ^S.W. Hutchings, Patchett, Day, Rainey, Elder, J. D.
