I have had a quick look through the Ó Dálaigh manuscript which you so kindly presented to me. It is very interesting from the point of view of the language, and it deserves to be published, in part at least. I hope to have more time to examine it in detail during the holidays.

Dear Professor,

Due to the arrears of mail in this unhappy area, I have only recently received your letter of 28th February. I was very interested to hear of your first impressions of the manuscript, and thank you for letting me know. I know the west so much better than the south. It was extremely kind of you to send me a copy. Your photographs remind me of another recent book "Faces of the West" which you may have seen. I am rather pleased with myself that I can follow it as well as I do. It is a long time since I went to school.

Since meeting you, I came across a few more letters written by Seán Ó Dálaigh to my father. I do not know if they would be of any interest to you. For the reason I mentioned in connection with the other letter, I should like to look them over. I have not had time to do this.

After Easter, my address will be Carmelite Monastery, Roebuck, Dublin 14. I mention this, not because I expect you to write to me, but in case you wanted the letters.

I am glad that you were pleased with the manuscript, and thank you again very much for your book and letter.
