July, Thursday 1st. 1886.

I took some pills last night
& feel miserable today. Uncle
Henson came to work. Willie went
to Elton again. Dora took Nelly
& the baby over to Riverside & left
them there. Alice Peirce came
& took Dora to Ed P Thomas' to
a "Better Acquainted". Rachel
Thomas here for advice & med.
Mary Hill also here for advice
for one of her children. Charley
went in the spring wagon over
to Riverside after store closed
to put the boat in the river.

63. Rain Rain Rain N.E.
July, Friday 2d. 1886.
Commenced raining sometime
during last night and
continued throughout to-day.
making a complete rainy day.
After dinner Jno Johnson took
Charlie down in the carriage.
Bro Richard brought Nelly and
the baby from Riverside
through the " pouring rain" and
went back to Ashton to wait
for the stage that went down
to Laurel for Sister Mary and
the Parker grand children.
I drove down for Charley at
7. o'clock, and the stage came
after we reached home and
had the horse put away-
In the evening C & I fixed the
Johnson " squealo dian" and
improved it greatly.
