TUESDAY. AUGUST 22, 1876.
Took Willie & went to see Eliza
Jackson ( colored) in S.B. Hannah's
place and to S C Gorrell's. thence
to Green Spring where we dined.
I was made to suffer great agony
of mind- Willie went ahead
of me from Isaac's gate promising
to walk slowly on to the spring near
the dam on the creek not finding
him there. I greatly feared he had
fallen into a deep place below
the dam (where two children were
drowned about year since) but
he had ran on home where I found him
safe & well.

then. notwithstanding I have done nothing
to deserve such a visitation that I know of.
