SATURDAY, JANUARY 1, 1876 44 Cloudy S. W. Grand Fox Hunt from Monsee's Walter S Coale & Harry Archer dined with us. Walter & I shot our Revolvers at a mark: Henri & Harlan called at the office, also Geo: Gibson for a Christmas gift.

SUNDAY 2 50 Clear S Went to Meeting Friend H Husband preached. Went to Jno: Wellassey's. H & the children spent most of the day at Keziahs. I dined & took tea there. The sun shone out for the firt time in many days Weather very warm. I Rode up to the P.O. after tea to Mail a letter for H.

MONDAY, JANUARY 3, 1876. 45 Cloudy S.W. Isaac H. Thompson called before I was up. Was sent for and went to see Mr Wallis near Rock Run Church - went in the sulkey. Roads wretched. Charley drove his mother up to the store to do some shopping.

TUESDAY 4 32 Clear N.W. About house all day. Cleaned up the office. Jno. Hall called. "Daily Sun" made its appearance again -

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 5, 1876. About house all day. Harriet went to Saul Holloway's with M Archer & Eliza Holloway. Charley went to "Green Spring"

THURSDAY 6 35. Clear N.W. About the office all the forenoon went to Mrs Annie Wilson's on foot afternoon. Jno. Worthington called. Received this diary by mail.
