Adverbs:
There are three classes of adverbs.
Classes: how, when, where
Where did he find the apple? In the wagon.
James reads well. James plays to day. Where
does he play? In the field. Adverbial expression.
A word or those words which tell how, when
or where are called adverbs. Adverbs are
easier to pupils because they have already
had discipline in selecting and judging.
Reject all doubtful things. Look over what is
kept and reject half of that. Skill lies
in knowing what to keep and what to reject.
We can have four or five months of this
works. We have parts of speech which the
child recognizes.
1. Nouns and Pronouns
2. Adjective.
3. Verb.
4. Adverb.
5. Connectives.
This is a word class and constitutes the
first years grammar work Do it slow. Take
five or ten minutes a day. Have snap and
sparkle in class Take a piece in the Third Reader
and tell what two thirds of the words are.
