Sir:-
Referring to your letter of 26 Oct., '04, the Board states that it has to-day asked the Department for the temporary appointment of Mr. Michael Ludescher as Second Assistant Keeper at Yaquina Head, Oreg., Light-Station, from 13 Sept., '04 to the date of his probationary appointment.
The Board requests that hereafter, whenever a recommendation is made for the appointment of a Keeper and no date is fixed, if it becomes necessary to put him on duty before the receipt of his appointment, you at once inform this Office of the date on which he entered on duty that it may be reported to the Department.
