the most awful stuff, and go on till they nearly foam at
the mouth. It is fearful. After one or two of these exhortations
one person calls on the people to go to Christ, following it
with a hymn. He walks down out of the platform singing
as he goes. The parsons as a body following. They go into the
middle ring, marked No: 1 in my plan, the people go into
the outside one marked at No:2. There they begin to pray.
The parsons rush from side to side shouting. "Now's your
time" pray hard" Come to Christ now" "tis your last chance"
"pray God to save you all" "thank God you are out of hell"

voices. Then a few, and afterwards the greater part rushed
to the inner circle. No: 1 and they began to sing at their

rushing about as before. Now, the women began to faint
and others to throw cold water on them. One old woman
was rubbing a girl who had fainted, and as she came
to, she saw some people laughing and smiling, she
turns to the girl and says, "give the devils more glory"
