To the Honourable the Judges of Frederick County
Count now Sitting --

The Petition of Benjamin Joy of Frederick
County respectfully therewith, that a certain
Carlton Tannehill was heretofore bound as
an Apprentice to this Petitioner, as more fully
appears by a copy of the indenture herewith
exhibited -- That [ ] on the month seventeenth Day of September in
the year eighteen hundred and eight the said
apprentice absconded from this Petitioner
& continued absent from his service from that
time until the expiration of the term for
which he was bound, that is to say until
the ninth day of December in the year
eighteen hundred and ten.

Your Petitioner therefore prays your honours
to award him with compensation to be
made by the aforesaid apprentice, either by
his service or by the payment of money
to your Petitioner, as justice and equity may
require -- andsoforth --
