which sum I have carried to account
A short time ago Leonard Barker called upon
me, pleading poverty and inability to pay, and I granted
him till the 12th instant. to get his share of money
together --- which amounts to £7 . 13 " -- and I have
since inquired into his character which I find to
be very bad, I therefore request that, -- as all the parties
concerned in selling the Droit Tallow have been
punished one way or the other, in the event of his
not paying at the time I have mentioned, I may
be entrusted to proceed against him - there is no
doubt of a conviction. He will - most likely, plead
guilty.

Leonard Barker, -- of which I should have apprized you
but was engaged - Of course that the £5 and inform
