With reference to my Letter of the
19th Ulto, acquainting you that Messrs Robt & H Foster
soap and candle makers in this Town had deposited
with me the sum of £11.10.0 in respect of C [which?] 5.3.0
of Foreign Tallow which they had purchased from
Robert Statters of Skipsea Brough - the said tallow having
been picked up on the sea shore by William Danby and
four others and entrusted by them with Statters for sale
Statters got tipsy before he returned home and
forgot the amount for which he sold the Tallow, and
Therefore accounted to Danby and his partners for
£6.10 only. This circumstance came to my knowledge
