of Trade and subsequently sent to the
Receiver General. - I also send you the
claim and Receipt of Mr Bramble in
respect of net proceeds of sale of anchor
chain etc no 148/1855 which I should not
have paid to him without the [authority]
of the Receiver General; But having
sold the articles with others; as you are
aware; I thought I was at liberty to pay
Mr Bramble the net proceeds Viz £2. 16. 11 1/2
which I will thank you to obtain for
me from the Receiver General

In reply to your letter of yesterdays
date; and to that of Mr Lindsay's of the
20th preceding, herewith returned
I beg to acquaint you for his [information]
that the sum of £2. 16. 11 1/2 paid by me
to Mr Brambles is inclded in
the sum of £151. 17. 4 remitted in September
as well also the proceed of sale of the
articles - sold by Mr R. Marshall a detail
of which I forwarded in my letter of the
17th [Instant]; to which a Receipt from
Mr Marshall is annexed for £7. 5. 2
which is spread over the whole of
the articles detailed on that statement
and is forwarded merely to be
filed as a voucher - I have nothing
further to account for in respect of
wreck articles brought to land during
the Receivership your late father
and all that I require is - the return of
the sum of £2. 16. 11 1/2 paid to Mr Brambles
