Note A. William Cain J bell was 1st Corporal in Capt Jev. 7 albot's Co. Wm Irvine, Col. 6th Penna. Bat. Peunng. Archies (5th Ser.) Vol. 2 page 209 also on Page 231 at is stated that he was a Corporal as early as 2-3-1776 also on p.17 he is a priate on Roll of Cap't James Chambers [?]

Note B - Moses Sturgeon was a son of Thomas Sturgeon (b. 8-17-1731 d. 1813) and wife Margaret Corbell (b. 5-28-17-1) they were married 7-16-1750 Thomas Sturgeon, a private in Cap't Jas Murray's Co. 1775-associates 4th Bat. Sancaste Co. Pa. Militia. Re-enlisted in Same Co. 1778,1779 & 1782. His name also appears on "A Return of officers elected in the 10th Bat. Lancasle Co. Militia agreeable Sordens published for that purpous 4-15-172" as Lieutenant Thomas Stergeon."

Cumberland Co. Pa. Went to Ky (1788) & Ohio *1801.)

NOTES JOHN TOWNSLEY 1st. was a private soldier in the War of the Revolution. He served in "Captain Talbot's Company," 6th Pennsylvania Batallion, Wm. Irvine, Colonel. A certified statement to this effect may be obtained from the State Library, Harrisburg, Penn. He had eight sons and only one daughter, and is supposed to have been one of two brothers who came to this country from Scotland. Thomas, the brother Rev. Soldier also b. 1755

Born(1757-1827) JANE WHITE was a woman of great intelligence. "The Preachers used to be afraid of making errors when she was in the audience.

2. Samuel Townsley, 1st, lived and reared his children in Miami Co. Ohio, near Piqna. His sons came to Iowa (Wm. J. -1849; John-1848.); and settled on farms near Brighton.

IV [illegible] was a daughter of George Townsley & James, a son.
