Dr Kennicutt

My dear Sir -

My brother Guy took
a memorandum of things which my
wife had desired to purchase, consisting
of shrubs, Roses, Roots &c, and had [illegible]
from my wife to have them sent out this
or next week. It was a mistake all
round, for I did not intend to send the
memorandum after making it out, which
I did for the purpose of seeing what it
would cost. I find it difficult enough
to pay my bills under all the difficulties
of making collections this spring, and for
the reason I would prefer not to have
the order filled.

Respectfully & truly
Yours &c
