there I enjoyed meeting so many
old acquaintances – And they knew
me at once which was flattering
I thought after so many years – &
I was proud to present my sons .
I scarcely can go to London now
for excellent & substantial reasons
L.s.d [£.s.d] – My "brother in law" (as Alfred
Denison used to say!) has married
an enormously rich wife who has
one of the largest of the large houses
in Grosvenor Square – a palace wh
is gorgeously furnished – but I have
not been asked to stay there –
She is most courteous however – but
not at all my sort – Perhaps I shall
go to her palace in Hartfordshire!
