Rose Hill January 3- 1952 2006 meeting.

Afain we had a most beautiful warm day to meet with Rose Gimpim for her January Meeting. After a most delicious luncheon, we gathered in the beautiful sunny living room, and were called to order by Grace Thomas, who was asked to serve in the absence of our past hostess, Alice Farquhar. The minutes of the last meeting at this place were read, and the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The Rules and Regulations were read for information as is usual at the January meeting. The Treasurer reported a balance on hand of $18. and we were reminded that "dues are Due" . The February meeting will be at The Cedars with Helen Hal-lewell and Helen Farquhar. Emelene Hill and Rose Hutton Hill will be our hostesses in March and April. For her sentiment our hostess read a christmas card from Anna Bussler who sent love to the Association. Elza quoted some well known people in contrary definitions. She asked about the care of the white nylon to corrct and prevent yellowing. She was asvised to use whitex or mild solutions of blueing and bleach. Thelma Anderson read of how a little mongrel dog found happiness and a home on Christmas, and gave unbounded joy to a little crupple and his parents/ Rebecca Small read a story written by Sarah Briggs Stabler about a hundred years ago. She told us Stella and Bea Moore have a nice cat they would like to give away, as they think it is a disturb-ing their birds. There followed a slight discussion on the subject. Dorothy Wetherald redd "My Creed", from the Sunday paper. Elizabeth Ligon read the Saga of Pecos Bill from the Book of American Folklore. Eleanor Kirk read about spices from the Maryland Gardener, telling of Mace which is the scarlet membrane of Nutmeg. Helen Farquhar had lost her voice, but for contribution lshowed the lovely wedding pictures of Anne. Esther Stabler read from "1866 and All That". Isbael Wesley read of the thousands of students who take "Student Tours" in Europe each summer. Sylvia Woodward read of the New Year.
