April 8 1920 Dear one:- Thy letter came this evening and I am sending off this note in answer to thy question about going down with Miss Adams. I think it would be just the thing to do. Though I should hardly think the house habitable at this time as I doubt if there is water and it will be very cold if it is at all like the present, It will certanily be necessary for thee to go down if it can be managed as I know nothing about the household arrangements or when things are packed away - though of course if thee could not get away I would manage in some fashion. From Mr [Croft's?]'s letter I judge that Burns had arranged for several payments though he did not mentions this in his letter to me. In fact the whole matter is still in the air.

A letter from Tom M. says they will keept the Verdun but as he will be at Norwood by the time thee gets this I am not giving news.

I think Freds idea of a white fence around the garden is not bad.

Dear love to thee thine Milton.

Dearest mother mine,

What a wonderful weekend I did have at home. Simply chick! All except Saturday night - but we'll have to forget about that.

It's a good thing [Nicky?] had the car key in his pocket or he'd have had to go over to Baltimore with me. I didn't get any

dinner and now I'm regretting it - even to the extent that Kit & I are heating up some campbell's soup. [& beans?] Cal wanted me to go for dinner somewhere but I got conscientious and said I didnt think I could - but he wanted to talk to before I knew it he had whisked me way out in the park. Of course I was late but
