Court of New South Wales
The humble Petiton of
Francis Moran. M D.
Sheweth.
That John Sullivan was
convicted at this present Criminal
Sessions with two others, charged with
receiving property of this Petitioner knowing
it to have been stolen./
That the property in question
was of such a nature that a person
might purchase it and at the same
time not know it to have been stolen
That your Pet'r [Petitioner] is informed
that the said John Sullivan came free
to the Colony and has hitherto bore [sic]
an exemplary Character
Your Petitioner therefore humbly
prays your Honors, in consideration of the
great family of the said John Sullivan
(4 Children) to pass such light sentence
on him as your Honors may deem
meet and the justice of the case be
satisfied with
