To any Sheriff of the State of Alabama You are hereby commanded to summon Thomas L. Pledger & Perry H Lee to be and appear as a witness in behalf of the State on thursday the 1st day of May next at Columbiana in a case wherein Crawford a slave is charged with grand larceny - and to attend at said trial and testify until discharged by due course of law - herein fail not to execute and return this subpoena under penalty J.M McClanahan Judge of Probate

The State of Alabama Shelby County

To any lawful officer of said county Greeting whereas Edmond a negro Slave the property of Est of John Moore Decd. of the said county has been brought before me upon a charge of Perjury and been committed to the Jail of the county to be further tried on the 4th day of Decr. next for the said alleged offence these are therefore to command you to give notice to Jourden Jones a Justice of the peace for said county to be and appear at the court house of said county at the hour of 12 oclock of said day to Sit upon the trial of said Slave Edmond the property as afore said of Est of John Moore Decd. of the county afore said herein fail not to Execute Given under my hand the 22nd day of nov. 1855 H Sumner J.P.
