The Committee appointed on the 12thday of October last, "to examine & report whether there had been any infringement of the By-law of the Corporation, which forbids the Sup^t or other paid Servant of the Corporation to have any interest in any work or materials furnished for the Cemetery" Make the following report:

They had an interview with a Granite & Marble Manufact^r who theywehad been informed, had some facts to communicatetouching Matters Submitted to us - After hearing his Statement, the Committee unanimously agree, that before making further inquiries, it was advisable to State the information so farwe heard rec'd to the Superintendent and request his reply - The accompanying letter from the chairman of the Committee to the Superintendent and his reply thereto are submitted as a part of this report -^{Read Letters} The committee have found no case where the Supt has received a commission or present of any kind for Work or Materials furnished the Corporation for its own use, or for use upon uponthe lots, held in charge by the Trustees. Te commissions receied by the Superintendent upon Marble & Granite from the Manufactures for work done for individuals cannot in the opinion of the Committee be deemed an infringement of

the by-laws of the corporation. How far it is desirable ^{in the future}to limit, if at all, the right of the Superintendent to receive commissions upon work done for proprietors to be placed in the Cemetery, is for the Trustees to determine.
