Brought over. $1000 $$3100

For making and recording deeds to Proprietors 208

Recording transfers and all instruments 160.50

Legal Services 59

Commissions on lots sold for Proprietors 30 1457.50 4557.50

To the compensation of the Secretary should also be added the sum of $165.43 paid by the Trustees for Office rent and taxes, by which amount the necessary office expenses of the Secretary for the transaction of his own business are thereby diminished.

and a vast amount of labor and skill have been during the past year by no means as well compensated as those of the Treasurer and Secretary, whose duties require a much less amount of time and labor.

They consider that the rendering of such services for a fee or reward by an officer of the Corporation should be discouraged as far as possible, but, if they are required in any case, the Superintendent who has the most perfect knowledge of the location, condition and value of lots in this Cemetary, is theproper person to be employed -

and they recommend the passage of a resolution forbidding the Treasurer, Secretary and Gate Keeper as acting as paid agent or broker in making sales or exchanges of lots and from receiving any compensation or commission for so doing - and that the Superintendent alone be authorized to act in that capacity.

Your Committee recommend that the salaries for the present year be as follows:

Superintendent - $2250 Treasurer - 1000 Secretry - 1200 Gate Keeper 550 and the use of allowance for Sunday

And that the Secretary account for and pay over to the Treasurer all sums received by him for making and recording deeds and transfers and for other services.
