To the Trustees of Mt Auburn Cemetery.

Gentlemen; The numerous business engagements which I have renders it impossible for me to give that attention to the duties of Gardener at Mt Auburn which might be desired: I have therefore disposed of any stock of plants and lease of Green House, to Mr. Alex McDonald of Cambridge, subject to the approval of your Honorable Board.

If the above proposition is accepted I herewith tender to the Board of Trustees my resignation as Gardener at Mt Auburn, and request that Mr M^cDonald be appointed as my successor
